As part of Alcoves 2020 Baxter will be showing her Breastplate series with several other sculptures. The Breastplate series are based on traditional breastplates used as armor throughout history. They have been altered to suit a lady and are based on Victorian ladies’ blouses. These pieces talk about protection for woman by taking the restricted quality of the Victorian era and turning that into power.
This show is currently on display and will be up until November 2020.
